Milton Photographic Club

The Milton Photographic Club web site is a site we developed on a pro bono basis, not least because we are both members of the club.

Several members, including us, have RSS feeds for our photos provided by whoever we host our photos with (Flickr, Picasa etc) so we thought it would be fun to try something different for this web site.

The site is a "mash up" of two technologies: we used Planet to create a combined RSS feed of all the members' feed and then used our Wiki (which uses the DokuWiki engine) to provide the more static pages. The result is a slightly "geeky" site but one which fits its target readership.

The left hand panel shows the most recent photos posted by members to their own web sites and the right hand panel has links to pages on the Wiki which explain more about the club along with links to the individual members photo web sites.

You can subscribe to the RSS feed which echos what appears in the left hand panel and so keep up date on what members of the club are posting on their photo web sites.

We also run the club's mailing list on our list server.
