If you've got a .com, .org or .net domain registered in your name then sooner or later you will get a letter from the Domain Registry of America. It will look something like this.

Our advice: throw it in the bin.

What these guys do is write to domain holders very early and hope they will assume these are official renewal notices and renew with them rather than the registrar they're already with. Here's a typical letter:

Their price for one year is £18. That's very expensive compared to the registrars we normally use so avoid.
